About Us
An independent Australian game studio
Virtual Convict is the trading name of Central Information Systems Pty Ltd. We are a small, independent Australian studio building simulation games - and the tools that go with them.
Our first release, Vincemus - Air Combat, launched on Steam in December 2024 after nearly three years in Early Access. It is a World War II air combat game that deliberately sits between arcade and study-sim: flyable with a mouse, but with enough underneath to reward learning the aircraft.
That balance is the thread through everything we build. Armour that behaves like armour. Handloads that change where the bullet lands. Ship systems that fail if you ignore them. We would rather model the thing properly and then find a control scheme that makes it approachable, than simplify the model to save the work.
We have four more projects in development: a co-op tank game, a space simulation, a hunting simulation set in the New South Wales State Forests, and a companion app for hunters in the field.
How we work
Model it properly
Get the underlying simulation right first, then find the control scheme that makes it playable. Not the other way around.
Ship, then listen
Vincemus spent nearly three years in Early Access before its 1.0. Player feedback shaped it, and it still does.
Build what we know
Hunters Call is set in real New South Wales State Forests because that is ground we actually know. It shows.
